What is it to be tutor?
Tutoring is a part time job which allows you to have a lot of free time to discover the country and learn french. You will be asked to teach English to your host family 15 hours/week, in return, they will provide you full board and lodging. The tutoring stay is considered as a ‘cultural exchange’. Your future host will be curious to learn about your customs and similarly you will share the every day life of a french family. The key to a successful stay will be a mutual respect and consideration created between you and the family.With this new program, we offer you the opportunity to come in Paris for a short stay, sharing your culture with a french family to discover our culture and language.
Language courses
There are many good language schools. We can help you find a school during your stay if you want to attend french classes. Feel free to contact us for further information.
The host families
Most of our families are located in big cities and their outskirt, they have to sign the IAPA agreement to make sure they respect the general rules and regulations.
Insurance
You will need to have your own insurance to be covered during all your stay in France as a tutor. Feel free to contact us if you need some advices about good insurances.
To be eligible to apply as a tutor you must:
- Be aged 20 to 65 years old
- Be native English speaker
- Agree to stay between 1 and 3 months
If you fulfil all these conditions and are ready for this experience, please send us a complete application form including:
- The attached application form filled in black ink
- A dear host family letter in French in which you write about the reasons why you want to be a tutor in France, the experience you have, your family background, personality…
- 1 passport picture
- Copy of your passport
- CV
- Your last diploma
- A criminal record check certificate
- A recent medical certificate
It’s really important to send us a complete file because the more we will have information about you the easiest it will be to find you a suitable family.
